Pet Check Technology

I'm thrilled to be writing today's post!

We have an exciting new addition to Walk the Dog, a new software program called Pet Check Technology! I thought and thought about this decision for almost a month solid.  After several phone calls with the program's developer and completing a trial run with a "test group" I was finally able to make the decision.

This HAS TO BE the future of dog walking.  This software allows us to streamline our payment processes (yahoo no more checks) and most importantly allows our clients to see exactly when and where their dog was walked.  I love the increased transparency this program will provide!

Today, we are starting to integrate the software into our daily routines.  All three of us will be using the application on our iPhones and I am so proud that we are able to provide a service that is so high tech!

For those of you who I haven't yet spoken to about this software, here are some of the highlights:

How It Works
  • Clients will receive a secure, personalized barcode for your refrigerator or counter
  • Our walkers will use this barcode to scan in and scan out of your house with their mobile phone
  • You will receive an automated email alert each time the barcode is scanned (optional)
  • At any time during or after the walk you can logon to view the GPS map of the walk

And the best part?  The system will automatically charge your credit card each Sunday for walks that were completed that week.  No more invoices and check writing necessary!

Here is an example of how the maps will look when you logon using your user name & password:

A HUGE thank you to Doug Simon & his team in Chicago for developing and creating this ingenious software. I am truly stoked to be the FIRST and only dog walking business in the South Bay to have it! It's days like today that remind me why I left my crazy corporate job six years ago and started this adventure.  I'm so happy to continue to be able to provide a personalized and professional service for animal owners in the South Bay... Pet Check will really give us a leg up! (no pun intended here of course, hehehe)
